Zoey Van Goey is a band made up of Matt Brennan, Michael John McCarthy, and Kim Moore. Hailing from Canada, Ireland, and England respectively, they met in Glasgow, Scotland, and started making music together in 2006.

In May 2007, the Zoeys embarked on a short tour with Falkirk art-rockers Y'all Is Fantasy Island and novelist Alan Bissett. Dubbed the Super Puny Humans, and inspired by Chemikal Underground's Ballad of the Books project, the shows featured performances by both bands as well as sections with everyone onstage, with Bissett reading from his published novels while both bands provided musical backing.

The band released their debut single, "Foxtrot Vandals", on seven-inch vinyl and digital download in October 2007. It was chosen as "single of the week" by Jim Gellatly on XFM Scotland and "UK import of the week" on his "Passport Approved" show in the US and Germany. It has also been featured on BBC Radio Scotland and Radio 1 by Vic Galloway, where the band were invited to record a live session.

A few additional facts: Kim once trekked her way through a jungle in Ghana with a machete. Matt had part of his lung surgically removed after a tree fell on him during an ice storm in Montreal. Michael John was a trivia prodigy and regularly appeared on television quiz shows in Ireland throughout his childhood.
